The Zoo, Hike #4 and Hike #5...making the most of my time to blog!!

Recently we took the boys to the Milwaukee County Zoo before our year membership is up...only there for a short time but it was SO nice to be outside and the boys love the zoo. We have since gone on hike #4 which we took on the Waterford bike trail and hike #5 which we took in Devil's Lake. On our way up the trail at Devil's Lake we saw someone being carried down from the upper bluffs on a stretcher. For anyone who has been up on those trails you know some of them can be treacherous. So we said a quick prayer for man and continued on our hike on the LOW gravel trail.

Turning 30, UGH!!

So for my 30th birthday I decided to do something really different, totally out of the box for me and colored my hair so there is blonde and BRIGHT PINK in it. I LOVE it!! Completely not me but great to feel a little "bad girl" going on. For my birthday my dad gave me a night in a cabin at Baraboo Hills Campground in Baraboo, WI. Such a FANTASTIC campground, would highly recommend it to anyone with young children looking for a reasonable or relatively reasonable get a-way. They have FREE bikes, heated pool, playground, big jumpy trampoline thing, fishing poles to use in their stocked pond PLUS lots of other things that you can pay extra for. It was wonderful to spend that time with my family and for those of us too old to sleep on the ground (ME!!) it was warm and comfortable as well. Thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes and thoughtful gifts. I love all of them and look forward to turning 29 AGAIN next year, lol!!

Spitting...

Lilly has just found her tongue and loves sticking it out and spitting. While it's absolutely adorable right now I hope that she doesn't continue to do this.

Hiking 2009 #3

After grocery shopping this morning we went for a late afternoon hike on the local bike trail starting on Spring Valley Rd. 2.1 miles in a little over an hour and a half...guess that's not too bad with 4 little ones. The boys loved picking up sticks, checking out old birds nest and imagining that there were alligators in the swampy waters and drawing dinosaur footprints in the gravel path. All in all a great day.
